My work focuses on the intersection of conceptual art, architecture, and language - meditation on space and immersion into overlooked places inform the artistic inquiries of my practice. The largest influence on my work is the rich history of my native country and ancient civilizations. I often borrow colors, textures, and materials from antiquity - in a modest way, perhaps, contributing to a vernacular that’s been around for thousands of years. My work explores themes of identity and displacement - My most recent work focuses on themes of immigration and belonging and is developed through cultural exchange between herself and others. Community shapes my vision and at times helps her artistic decision-making.
