I have a deep and long history of using my voice & art to build community—in New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and other places where I’ve lived and traveled—and to increase levels of audacity, curiosity, understanding, and hope among those with whom I’ve collaborated and audiences/readers for whom I’ve created my work. I have taught poetry writing and performance workshops in Nebraska, Illinois, California, and Texas—in public schools, literary festivals, college classrooms, libraries, and at two juvenile detention centers. I am a constant mentor.

Finally and ultimately this: I adore writing as a 21st century cultural hybrid and, more importantly, living like one.
